Debbie Alamilla is a native Houstonian who has been a scuba instructor since 1992. She is a PADI IDC Staff Instructor and teaches scuba diving and underwater photography for Woodlands Scuba, Inc. (in the Houston, Texas area), and also in Cozumel, Mexico. She served as president of the Woodlands Photography Club in 2004. After becoming certified as a scuba diver, she became interested in underwater photography and purchased her first underwater camera, a Sea & Sea Motormarine II. Several years later, she purchased a Nikonos V and eventually upgraded to a Nikon N8008 in an Aquatica housing. She now uses a Nikon F4 in an Aquatica housing with dual Nikonos SB-105 strobes. Recently, she has been doing some underwater videography with a Sony PC-330 housed in an Ikelite housing. She has recently purchased the Nikon D70, but uses it primarily for topside photography.
Over the past 15 years, she has taken numerous trips to Cozumel, Mexico (which remains her favorite diving destination), but has also taken dive trips to various other locations including Costa Rica, Cabo San Lucas, La Paz, Grand Cayman, Bonaire, Curacao, Belize, Jamaica, Bay Islands (Honduras), the Texas Flower Gardens and Texas gulf coast, and to the Andaman Sea in Thailand.
Please check back, as photographs of trips and classes are being added to this site.
